The Guru Question - Mariana Caplan

The Magic of Nature - Sequoya

Quick Overview

This true story is wrapped around my experiences living deep in the woods, listening, watching and reflecting on the surrounding natural world. Beginning with my taking up residency and rebuilding a small cabin amidst thousands of acres of uninhabited forest, I?ve recorded very specific observations of my wilderness environs in almost poetic detail along with adventures in carpentry and land stewardship.

Sprinkled throughout are my encounters with some of the subtler aspects of nature. These include developing active communication with the neighboring deer and other animals, working co-creatively with the land itself, and expanding relationships with the devas, nature spirits and earth energies of the area while explaining briefly what they are and how to do so. For those interested in following up on authors and resources discussed, contact information is offered in an appendix.

My ultimate goal in writing this book is inspiring and supporting others in deepening their personal relationship with nature. I truly believe this is an important part of the solution to the social and environmental challenges we face. Thus, I?ve aimed to craft an elegantly written literary work with dozens of beautiful photographs, an informative, accessible, engaging book written in a comfortable conversational tone.
