It’s a joyful array of motifs inspired by the rivers, the mountains, the stars, and fields--all very important in the lives of this people. A complimentary warp technique produces a double-faced fabric in which the pattern is the same on both sides, but colors are reversed. Unexpected hues of deep raspberry, gold and black of naturally dyed sheep's wool and alpaca. Your choice of belt widths 4 inches (18 inches long) or 4.5 inches (34 inches long).

    A very special bag of art, weaving the story of the first light of sunrise over the mountain to the last light.  Constructed so that it is folded at the bottom, the pattern remains the same front and back, though the colors change from warm golden to darker blue, suggesting the balance of day and night. Nothing is lost in this design from the fringed flap to the three tassels on the bottom. The colors are a delight for the eyes, with an earthy orange, red, indigo, gold, a touch of pink, green and plum. Pattern on strap is ñawi-awapa or protective eyes.
