Details
Peru’s Chancay culture settled fifty miles north of Lima in the Chancay Valley between 900 and 1400 A.D. The Chancay people were exquisite ceramic and textile artisans. Cuchimilco ceramic figures are almost always presented in pairs to represent family. Archaeologists have often found cuchimilcos in the tombs of Chancay nobility, as their outstretched hands absorb negative energy.
