A beautiful singing bowl with the symbol of a double dorje, or vishvavajra, decorating the inside bottom. The double dorje is represented by two dorjes connected to form a cross. It represents the foundation of the physical world and is also associated with certain tantric deities. Hand tuned bowl is made by fair trade artisans in Nepal and has a unique resonance. Comes with its own wooden striker.
Bells and dorjes are used in many Tibetan Buddhist rituals. The bell symbolizes the feminine principle, the wisdom of emptiness, while the dorje, or vajra, symbolizes the masculine principle, that of compassion expressed through skillful means. The union of these two principles is enlightened mind. Our beautifully and intricately decorated bell and dorje set is crafted in the Tibetan Lingtsang colony in northern India. The illustration of a sun lizard is beautifully printed into the Fiberskyn head to last. Braided cords are used for cross bracing to add to the look and feel of the Buffalo Drum. The center of the cording is comfort-coated for hours of enjoyable play. Beat near the center of the drum for deep pitches and accent them with higher pitch rhythms from the edge of the drum.
