The
Serpent's Lair
Steve Roach, Byron Metcalf
Ambient explorer Roach and percussionist Metcalf
originally began this as an experiment into the effects of breathwork
and the use of sound on a person "as a shamanic strategy for
healing, personal growth, and transformation." The successful
effects their music had in group settings were extended into these
compositions. While billed as a collaboration between the two men,

Back
Tuva Future
Ondar
The ancient,
multitone singing technique from Tuva (which lies just north of Mongolia)
is relocated to the heartland of America on Back Tuva Future,
a CD recorded by Nashville honchos Jim Ed Norman, David Hoffner, and
Ralph Leighton. With guest appearances from Willie Nelson, Randy Scruggs,
and Bill Miller, these 10 tracks take on the shape of a multicultural
hoedown in more ways than one. click

Totem
- Gabrielle Roth & The Mirrors
Ancient and modern worlds unite in this urban-primitive,
shamanic drumming trance-dance music for dancing and listening.
This album features a unique blend of musical talent, musicians
who inspire the spirit of ecstasy as they weave the sounds of percussion,
synthesizers and flutes to create a song for the soul. This album
became an underground classic shortly after its release and continues
as one of Gabrielle's most popular. Review by Raven

Winds
of Warning - Plack/Soames
This is aboriginal Music from Australia with some
South African influence. The songs give thanks to Mother Earth,
the wisdom of aboriginal culture, and the landscape of Australia.
There are definite levels and rhythms in this recording, from soaring
to solitary walkabout rhythms. This is good discovery music
- haunting and memorable. Review

Sacred
Spirit Drums - David & Steve Gordon
This CD is very drum oriented, but also features
native American flute, Incan pan pipes, and natural sounds.
There are ten tracks on this CD with too much variety and too little
time on each track for shamanic journey work. It has a very
Native-American sound to it that easily transports one into the
desert southwest. this recording is a follow-up to thei earlier
piece entitled Sacred Earth Drums. Review

Drum
Medicine - David Gordon & Steve
David & Steve Gordon always provide compelling and
evocative music. I enjoyed this CD even more than Sacred Earth Drums.
All I can say is; "Drum Medicine" is Good Medicine and will reach
deep within you to evoke thoughts of the Natural World around us.
