Om Mani Padme Hum, translated as hail to the jewel in the lotus, is the ancient Tibetan mantra or prayer for realizing perfect wisdom and compassion. To simply hear or see the mantra, even without knowing its ultimate meaning, will bring positive karmic results. This traditional rendering shows the mantra in a six petal stylized lotus. The hand-cast tingsha is painted with the lotus design by a skilled Nepali artisan. Hang a cymbal from each hand and gently strike the sides together to release the mantra's cosmic vibration.

Tibetan tingshas are traditionally used for meditation, ritual ceremonies and as an elegant and powerful decorative element. In iconic depictions of celestial orchestras goddesses are often seen playing 'ting-sha' or hand cymbals. A quick tap of these two flower etched bells will generate a lovely chime, pleasing to all goddesses (and gods!) everywhere.

All our tingsha are hand cast with a traditional 7-metal alloy to produce a powerful harmonic resonance. Each one is strung on a dark cotton cord and comes with an informative hang tag. Each tingsha is handmade by Tibetans at the Lingtsang metal craft colony in India.
