Jasper can show many different colors and patterns, each given their own names, usually descriptive of the pattern or color of the stone, like Green Spot Jasper with a surface resembling a mottled, or spotty, pattern on green, usually a light to dark green. 

This mineral is known as the supreme nurturer. It acts as a reminder that one is not here, on this physical plane, just for oneself, but is also here to bring joy and substance to others, assisting others to release the bonds of constraint. 

It was often worn by shamans to provide protection. It holds an aspect of solar energy and a connection to the solar plexus chakra. It was considered a scared stone during the performance of, and adherence to, the "old ways" of the Native American Indians.
