Our fair-trade, hand-carved Tick Tock gourds are made in central Peru. The gourds are grown in the warm central valleys of the Andes, the coastal oasis and in the jungles. After harvesting, they are thoroughly dried, skinned and sanded smooth. Two gourds are attached to a hardwood handle and a clacker is added to create a unique percussion instrument.
We like to call it the 'tick tock' because that's what it sounds like when you alternate between striking the two gourds.
