Tito La Rosa
For more than a decade, La Rosa, a descendent of Quechua Indians of the Peruvian Andes, has been recovering and preserving, studying, and intuiting the ancestral music of Peru. Tito is also known as a Curandero de Sonido, a Shaman of Music. When performing ritual and ceremony for healing, he enters into an altered state to bring forth sound that elevates the frequency of an individual and allows for healing and balance to occur.
This musical project was born years ago in the precints of the Antropological Museum of Lima, Peru. In there we had our first contact with the original instruments of the Pre-inca times (2,000 years ago). We felt that it was Mother Earth singing throug the ceramic instruments, air sounding through the feathers, water, fire and earth crying inside the whistling pottery. Later on, we knitted together all these sonorous universes to ancestral myths legends and rituals. This was how Ritual was born.
Tito La Rosa's New CD with Tavo Castillo. The men & woman of ancient Nasca culture, a culture of sand, wind and water, read the past and future in the stars. Inscribed on these lines upon sand, are the memories and presence of this desert's timelessness.
KINTU Ofernda is a musical exploration of the three dimensions of the Great Andean Universe. The World Within; the Uccu Pacha, The Here And Now; the Kai Pacha, and The World Above; the Hanan Pacha. In the Andean world, every flower, every star, every stone and dew drop, as well as each and every human being is a Universe, or "Pacha" a perfect totality which is complemented in kind by another larger and more perfect totality; this is a never ending process.
Icaro, Shamanic Songs - Tito la Rosa. The magical songs called "icaros" in the Amazon region of Peru, are prayers or invocations sung by master herbalists and medicine men during ceremonies wiht sacred plants. That music puts in movement great powers, which can reveal "the masks that are beneath the face" as the poet Cesar Calvo said.
Ayni With Tito La Rosa with special guest Rene Jenkins. Ayni is a Quechua word meaning reciprocity. Ayni is a spiritual law as well as a law of nature. It is at the heart of the principle that underlies the establishment of trust and mutual connection. Simply put this principle can be stated...that as so I give, I will be provided for. This is the sacred trust of being. It is key to health and healing. When we operate in the field of Ayni, we touch a frequency that allows for the possibility of deep connection and nourishment, as well as the possibility for synchronicity and miracles.
