Nonetheless, spiritual cleansing takes place with the ritualistic burning of sage smudge sticks and other herbs, using the aromatic properties of smoke to cleanse negative energy and promote spiritual strength. Once your space is cleansed from negative energy, your yoga or meditation session or your shamanic ritual will be elevated and energized.
A smoke bundle can contain any number of different herbs, such as California white sage, lavender, salvia apiana, rosemary, cedar, and even Palo Santo. Different traditions use different herbs for sage smudge sticks, such as a white sage smudge stick or cedar smudge stick.
