  10. Bolivian Pure Alpaca Wool Poncho - 'Quetena Dream'

This beautiful poncho is skillfully handwoven by Bolivian people of Nativearte in Potosí (Bolivia mining department) and carries this name in honor of two communities and a river running through this plateau region (Quetena Rio Grande and Quetena Quetena Chico).  This poncho is woven from llama wool and spun into a beautiful handmade garment without any chemicals, which means the colors are completely natural and durable. The uniquely staggered design down each side of the garment is typical of the region.  Lightweight to help withstand low temperatures.  Potosí is one of the departments with the lowest temperatures of Bolivia and sits at 4,191 meters above sea level.  This one is as dreamy as the clouds floating at that level.  A 5 inch fringe trims the lower edge. One size fits most.   Handwoven in Bolivia.
