Earth Day 2016: Help Plant Trees in The Amazon

Shamans Market

We have teamed up with Camino Verde, a non-profit organization in the Peruvian Amazon this is dedicated to protecting and understanding biodiversity in the Amazon, protecting indigenous rights, wisdom and autonomy, as well as spreading sustainable ways of life and encouraging fair, sustainable development. Their mission is simply to plant trees and encourage others to do the same. They do have a Living Seed Bank that preserves and reproduces the seeds of important native plants that are being planted.

Trees have vital importance in the great web of life. They have SO many benefits from removing pollution in the atmosphere to helping relieve stress. There have been studies showing 25% fewer acts of domestic aggression and violence with nearby trees and natural landscapes. Trees assist in the cool down of Earth and provide homes essential for wildlife to thrive. And with more than 20% of the world’s oxygen produced in the Amazon Rainforest it just makes sense to help Camino Verde with their mission.

We think the founder of Earth Day, Gaylord Nelson, says it best:

Our goal is not just an environment of clean air and water and scenic beauty. The objective is an environment of decency, quality and mutual respect for all other human beings and all other living creatures.”

Help us plant trees this Earth Day by donating at least $2.00 to Camino Verde. To add more just increase the quantity you would like to add to your cart. We are always so grateful and amazed at the generous support you provide. We have this option available on our shop all the time, so feel free to contribute when you are able.
