Many know of the Sanskrit Om, a symbol that represents primordial sound in Hindu cosmology, the mantra A-u-m, and the geometrical Sri Yantra, a visual representation of the creative force of the Universe. Through sight, sound, and vibration, our senses enable us to experience and resonate with Ohm. In the realm of music, composer Marjorie de Muynck proposes that Om, also spelled Ohm, is our collective musical center, and may be the fundamental tone from which ancient and contemporary musical scales and their intervallic systems evolved. Through music composed in the Key of Ohm, de Muynck bridges this ancient tuning with contemporary Sound Healing practices, featuring tuning forks, bowls, field recordings and an eclectic range of indigenous and world instruments.
This is a truly unique recording, an odyssey in sound to align with the rhythms of the earth. It reminds us all that we are on a pulsing, living planet, teeming with the mysteries and wonder of life in all its manifest glory. From THE WATKINS REVIEW, UK
