Our sacred ceremonial rattle is hand-crafted in the Peruvian Amazon from chonta wood and gourds. This rattle features an etched animal design on the front and the reverse sides of the bowl. Finely finished with plant fiber tufted tops. Each rattle is a unique work of art and has its own sound—your choice of animal style and size.
Length is measured excluding the tufted tops and runs 10 to 12 inches.

This zampona is a thirteen note instrument made from reeds and is called the Antara. The ANTARA is a single row of reeds rather than two. It is tuned pentatonically (5 note scale). The ANTARA is easy to play and colorfully adorned with textile fabric. Archaeological studies have shown the ANTARA to be one of the oldest instruments of Andean culture. Used in traditional Andean music, these pan pipes are fun to play!

Our fair trade, hand-carved gourd rattles are made in Central Peru. The gourds are grown in the warm Central Valleys of the Andes, the coastal oasis, and in the jungles. After harvest, they are thoroughly dried, skinned, and then sanded smooth. The designs are carved on the gourd without sketching creating many intricate designs.
