Intricately hand carved from alabaster-like stone, this circular tile features the revered Incan animal totem Kuntur, the Condor. Kuntur is encircled by a ring of the 12 sacred apus, or mountains, and glides in bas-relief over other Andean symbols. Expertly carved by shamanic artists, Abelardo and Luz Marina in Peru. Abelardo and his wife Luzmarina are master shamanic artisans. They have been creating traditional sacred stone carvings for many years and are well respected by shamans, teachers and practitioners both in Peru and abroad. Their art is infused with a deep understanding of Andean cosmology, ancient shamanic practices and a deep love for the apus and Pachamama. They live in Cusco, Peru with their three beautiful children Paola, Chaska and Sebastian.

The Andean condor is a raptor and the largest bird capable of flight. It is also known as the king vulture. Keeper of the Hanaqpacha and intermediary between that realm and the Kaypacha (along with siwar q'enti), Kuntur is the ultimate symbol of transcendence and of elevated, heavenly consciousness; sometimes seen as a symbol of purification, scavenging for carrion and transmuting that somewhat repugnant food-source into pure flight. Some of the symbols represented on this tile include: Wind God of Lightning, Food storage, protection of the House, Mother Earth with agricultural furrows, Hummingbird - bird of spirituality, Three coca leaf, kintu, offering for the Apus or mountain deities, Constellation including the four directions, and Inti, the Sun God.
