Providing a connection to the sacred arts of indigenous communities
CachosCachos are important to indigenous music and these hand-crafted Andean cachos are made in Peru. A traditional percussion instrument from the Andes, they have a rich pre-Colombian tradition. We stock many variations of cacho percussive instruments, and these are made with seed pods. Cachos are bound together with string and adorned with a hand woven cinta, or strap, either by being attached to or around something. Cachos are used by Andean groups to keep rhythm when they are shaken to the beat.
