Now the fragrant scent of South American Palo Santo Bursera graveolens is blended with black copal, in the form of incense sticks. Each stick is hand-made by grinding the finest palo santo wood into a powder and then dipping the sticks in resin and rolling the ground herb onto the stick, drying and packaging them.
These incense are hand-rolled in small batches using ethically and sustainably sourced resin and other plant materials. They are free from charcoal and essential oils which have been known to cause respiratory irritations to some when burned. Packaged in a plant-based cello bag in sets of 6, they burn for 45 minutes to an hour depending on the scent offering up to 6 hours of burning time per package. 6 sticks per pack.
Copal is sacred to the indigenous cultures of the Central and South Americas. It is burned year round in the churches in Mexico, but is best known for its use in the homes during Day of the Dead. It has a fine citrus aroma with underlying notes of frankincense, its close relative. It is often used by shamans in sacred plant spirit ceremonies.
