Hapé, also known as Rapé, is a sacred plant medicine traditionally used by Indigenous tribes of the Amazon for grounding, clarity, and spiritual connection. When self-administering Hapé, a Kuripe (a V-shaped applicator) is used to deliver the blend into your nostrils.
Create a Sacred Space – Sit in a quiet, intentional space where you can focus without distractions. Set an intention for your experience.
Gather Your Materials – You will need your Hapé blend, a Kuripe, and a small dish or surface to hold the medicine.
Measure the Hapé – Using a small spoon or your fingers, place a pea-sized amount (or your preferred dose) into the palm of your hand.
Load the Kuripe – Carefully scoop half of the measured Hapé into the longer end of the Kuripe, ensuring it is evenly packed.
Position the Kuripe – Place the longer end of the Kuripe snugly into one nostril. Position the shorter end into your mouth, sealing your lips around it.
Deliver the Medicine – Take a deep breath and, with focus, exhale firmly through the Kuripe, sending the Hapé into your nostril.
Repeat for the Other Nostril – Reload the second half of the dose and repeat the process for balance.
Sit in stillness, allowing the medicine to take effect. You may experience sensations like heat, pressure, or release.
Breathe deeply and stay present with your intention.
If needed, gently blow your nose after a few minutes to clear any excess powder.
