Cachos are important to indigenous music and these hand-crafted Andean cachos are made in Lima, Peru. A traditional percussion instrument from the Andes, they have a rich pre-Colombian tradition. While we stock many variations of cacho percussive instruments, all are made either with seed pods or bells. Cachos are bound together with string and adorned with a hand woven cinta, or strap, either by being attached to or around something. Cachos are used by Andean groups to keep rhythm when they are shaken to the beat.
