In 2009, Camino Verde secured over a thousand seeds of the often-felled, rarely-planted timber tree known as Moena Alcanforada. Over the course of a year, these young seedlings were nurtured and cared for until they reached planting size at a nursery run by the Peruvian government's Institute for Research in the Peruvian Amazon (IIAP).
